Involuntary Appraisal

January 17. 2011

I could scarcely believe my ears- Rudy Giuliani recommending and even chastising our society for not committing people like Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Karl Rove to “involuntary appraisal.”  I actually agree wholeheartedly with the Mayor!  Imagine “involuntary appraisal,” a sort of “Baker Act” or “BA 52” of the seriously mentally ill, people like Sharon Angle and Joyce Kaufman who advocate use of violence to solve political disagreements.  Sociopathic neoconservatives who would send Democratic campaign donors in chains to concentration camps as retribution for donations to an opposition party, other misanthropes who start wars against innocent populations to generate enormous profits for munition companies, insane politicians stealing funds from military hospitals to furnish carpetbagger cronies with blood money, draining Social Security funds for useless foreign wars- they could all be put away together in special sanitariums.  They could be fed raw meat and all the blood they could drink.  Heck!  They could even eat each other, a sort of “natural solution,” survival of the most insane.

Just think, now we could properly evaluate those who would bring automatic weapons to campaign rallies and political programs.  We could properly “appraise” otherwise seemingly “normal” people who so adamantly claim the “need” for assault rifles and automatic weapons.  We could “temporarily” commit for appraisal, the heads of the N.R.A. and “properly” examine that strange life form exhibiting utter disregard for human life.  We would, however, have to be careful to keep them away from the most extreme “pro-choicers” who would destroy late term aborted fetuses instead of sending them to the hospital.

Yes, Rudy, you may have hit the nail on the head this time, a way to protect society from the dangerously mentally ill.  Only one thing, Mayor, watch out what you wish for and hope we don’t pass each other, some night, guests in a strange state institution.
